When Rod and I came to Triumph Church we'd been married about
nine years, and we had two small children. We both came from Christian backgrounds, but we
were accustomed to different styles of worship. It was important to us to have a place of
worship that represented our Christian beliefs and our family dynamic. Since we are a biracial family we wanted a
church home that "looked" like us. We had visited a great number of churches over
the years but had never been able to settle on a permanent home. We were looking for a church where we were
free to openly worship as well as bible-based teaching. The churches we visited were either "too
light and quiet" or "too dark" but "bumping and jumping."
The messages were sometimes a little
long, slightly wrong, or short and ritualistic.
A family friend had heard (on several occasions) us talking about
our dilemma. She said she'd heard that
Triumph had most of the things we were looking for, especially the multiethnic
congregation. And they also had become
known for their productions. It sounded
like Triumph was meant for our family. So
we visited and...... ironically Rod was sold after the first visit. I on the other hand didn’t know for sure it
was for us until after seeing a production and witnessing how God used that
event to win souls for the Kingdom. The
production was totally opposite of what my childhood church experience would
have allowed. I was happy to see all
ages engaged in the move of God through song, dance, and worship. Triumph is truly a Bible-based, Spirit-filled
home for people of all religious backgrounds, races, and ethnicities.
There's something for everyone... not too old or too cold and
the word is really bold; not too light or quiet. Worship is just right!
Since we joined nineteen years ago, of course, some things have
changed, but the atmosphere of worship remains strong and the Word is true.
My Lead Pastors are much younger than me, but they are
great leaders for God. And our family
couldn't be happier with our church home.
